Here in the Pacific Northwest fall is moving into its grand finale of covering the earth with a carpet of color. I am so grateful for this big beautiful earth and each of you. Please know that you inspire me every day. I know it’s a bit tough now with the pandemic restrictions, but I believe that if you perceive your life as having unlimited potential and throw in a little gratitude, you will be aligned with your true being. My heartfelt wish for you is that you will experience this kind of abundance in your own unique way. Thank you for being here with me.

Peace and joy!

Much love,

Rebecca

As I was considering the topic of my blog post for this week, I couldn’t help but think it’s such a small thing compared to all of the BIGNESS that is happening in our world these days—Covid, elections, social justice, and violence to name a few. But then I thought, maybe small is what we each need right now. Because no matter how out of control and unnerving the world seems today

With the fall season here, many people might think it’s time to clean up the garden and put away the tools. But according to nursery professionals you can save the clean-up until mid to late November. Now is an excellent time to plant. The soil is still warm giving plants plenty of time to establish roots before winter.

So here is a suggestion

Simple cleansing pleasures of fall

Simple cleansing pleasures of fall

I’ve written a lot about fall throughout the years. Mostly because it’s my favorite season. I love its stunning transitional beauty and I’m drawn to the season’s natural cleansing energy. It’s a time to let go, clear out, drop whatever is not working, and begin to turn inward.

We are off for some awesome “self-contained” travels with our new little trailer that we affectionately refer to as Bliss. So I’m taking a summer hiatus from my blog for the next few weeks. I’ll be back in the fall with more stories, photos, tips, travel escapades, and a whole lotta nature love!

Until then, I hope you take your own summer hiatus and nature yourself beautiful every day in every way. And remember, as we continue to face this Covid pandemic, we are all coming home to ourselves.

I’ll leave you with this…

To be beautiful means to be yourself.
You don’t need to be accepted by others.
You need to accept yourself.

10 fun things for kids to do on a walk

July is a fantastic time for kids to be outdoors. Flowers are popping. Trees are leafy green. Birds are feeding their babies. Bugs are abundant. Beaches are teaming with sand creatures. All it takes is a short walk through your neighborhood to heighten any child’s curiosity. Step it up a notch with a beach walk or park trail and watch them blossom.

PICTURE IT WELL: what if forests were our church?

I found this poem in an old Yoga Journal magazine and was drawn to the nature analogy. It seemed so applicable to today’s world on so many levels. Click on the author link below to read the fascinating biography of this life long adventurer.

RAINFOREST POEM
What if?

“What if religion was each other?
If our practice was our life?
If prayer was our words?
What if the temple was the Earth?
If forests were our church?
If holy water—the rivers, lakes, and oceans?
What if meditation was our relationships?
If the Teacher was life?
If wisdom was self-knowledge?
If love was the center of our being.”
