WALK THIS WAY: Alki Beach & Schmitz Preserve, June 15, 2019

Our next walk kicks off summer as we explore Alki Beach and Schmitz Preserve. This urban beach walk takes us along Elliot Bay with beautiful views of the Olympic mountains and Seattle skyline. It feels like a California beach town with Seattle's iconic snow-capped mountains and ferry boats tossed in. We'll start with a walk through beautiful old growth trees in the Schmitz Preserve and then head to Alki beach with its mix of eclectic beach shops, cafes and a waterside walk along the bay. The walk is approximately 4 miles, so depending on our pace will take 2 to 2.5 hours.

P.S. I have some exciting news! My new book is coming out next month. It’s called “How to Make Every Day a Walk in the Park: 101 Empowering Ways to Connect With Nature (and Yourself). Check out the beautiful illustrations on the cover by Sandy Goranson and details on my home page.
